Using the prayer chain

Share a prayer request, click a quick-prayer button for someone, or post a longer reply. Threaded conversations, anonymous posting, and category badges.

community Β· Updated Jul 21, 2026

The prayer chain lives at /prayers. It's a quiet space to share what you're carrying and to pray for others.

Sharing a request

Sign in, click Request prayer, give it a short title, pick a category (health / family / work / recovery / grief / financial / spiritual / gratitude / other), and add any details you want to share. You can post anonymously β€” your name won't appear on the public listing.

Responding to others

Two ways to respond:

  • Quick reactions β€” one click on πŸ™ Praying, ❀️ Heart, πŸ•―οΈ Candle, or πŸ’ͺ Strength. The person who posted gets a notification.
  • Threaded replies β€” write a longer note, share scripture, or just encourage them. Replies can nest up to four levels deep so a real conversation can happen.

Filtering

The landing page has filter chips for Active, Answered, All, plus category chips and a search box. Pagination is 20 per page.

Marking your request answered

When your request has been answered, click Mark as answered πŸ™ on your own post. It moves to the "Answered" tab and signals to the community that the season has passed. You can reopen it anytime.

How points work

You earn reputation points for posting a request (+3) and for offering prayer (+2 on your first response per request). See how leaderboard points work.
