This Privacy Policy explains how Delta Directory ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Service. By using the Service you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide: account details (name, email, password hash), profile information, your chosen town/area, listings, posts, reviews, messages, support requests, and payment details you submit for paid features (processed by our payment provider β we do not store full card numbers).
- Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, approximate location derived from IP, and interaction events, collected via logs and cookies/similar technologies.
- Information from third parties: if you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g. Google, Apple), we receive basic profile data you authorize.
2. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- To create and manage your account and display your content;
- To personalize content (such as your local area) and send service or, with your consent, newsletter communications;
- To process payments and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
Our legal bases (where applicable, e.g. GDPR) include performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating a community platform, your consent, and compliance with law.
3. Cookies & similar technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies (for sessions, security, and CSRF protection) and, where applicable, preference and analytics cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- Publicly, for content you choose to make public (listings, posts, public profile, reviews);
- With service providers (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics) bound to protect it and use it only on our behalf;
- For legal reasons, to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or us;
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this Policy.
5. Your choices & rights
You may access, update, or delete your account information from your account settings, including a full account-deletion (right to be forgotten) option. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing (GDPR), and rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" (CCPA/CPRA β note we do not sell data). To exercise these rights, use your account tools or contact us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Public community content you posted may remain (in anonymized form) after account deletion to preserve the integrity of community discussions. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, rate limiting, and abuse protections) to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.
9. International users
We operate the Service from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Third-party content & links
The Service displays user-generated content and links to third-party sites we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties; review their privacy practices separately.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
