Posting an event

Adding a one-off or recurring event to the local calendar.

community Β· Updated Jul 21, 2026

Anything happening at a specific time and place: markets, concerts, fundraisers, classes, meetings.

Submitting an event

  1. Sign in. From Events click Add event.
  2. Fill in title, description, location, start time. End time is optional but helpful.
  3. Submit. Events go to a moderator queue and usually appear within a day.

Times and timezone

Times are displayed in the visitor's local timezone, not the database's UTC value, so attendees see the right time wherever they are. Enter the time as it would be at the venue and we'll handle the conversion.

Recurring events

If your event repeats (every Tuesday, monthly markets), pick the recurrence pattern when you create it. The first instance shows in the main listing; the rest unfold automatically. Edit the parent event to change all future instances.

Past events

After an event ends it moves to the archive. Past events are still searchable but don't appear on the main calendar.
